Introduced You To It: Our Halloween

Halloween fell on a Saturday this year; I didn't realize how much I love this, but, if possible, this fact made me love Halloween even more than I already do. Originally, we were scheduled for Emma to have a 10am soccer game, followed by lunch and naps and our church's fall festival; however, when the soccer game was cancelled due to the torrential rain we found ourselves with a free morning. We decided to head to the museum not knowing all the treats that were in store for us :).

The girls had fun doing all of the regular things; playing with balls, checking out the few animals, shopping up a storm and playing with baby dolls.

In addition to all of that, they had a whole bunch of Halloween themed crafts. We hadn't gotten around to carving/painting pumpkins (which had me feeling like a #momfail ;)) so this was perfect. Our masterpiece :).

After getting our face painted, creating party hats and decorating our pumpkins we stopped in the cafe to eat the snacks we had brought with us. After Ev's spent some time running around like a crazy person, I glanced up and saw this.

There is nothing that makes a mama's heart soar like seeing her two babies embracing each other on their own accord.

After that sweet moment, we headed upstairs to check out the music exhibit which was no longer a music exhibit much to the girls chagrin.

We didn't stay up there very long before heading back outside where my two little adventurers headed straight for the water.

They really are two peas in a pod when it comes to exploring their surroundings

and being toots :).

On our way home from the museum, they fell asleep in the car and we continued to drive around why we had a 'car date' (ie. peace and silence and uninterrupted conversation while our two kiddos napped peacefully in the backseat)- what, you don't have those?

When they woke up, we got the girls dressed and headed to my parents house to trick-or-treat. When we pulled up and I attempted to snap their picture, I realized there was no SD card in our camera and my iPhone would have to do for the rest of the night. I never want to forget that Everly remembered to say the sweetest 'trick-or-treat' after they banged on the door- we trained her well :).

My parents were not going to be home that night, so the girls were pretty thrilled that we got to stop by and see them before heading out.

Then, we headed to our fall festival where we swept spiders, hunted for treasure, had a round of bowling, golfed and tossed bean bags to our hearts content.

We headed to the upstairs area where we got our family picture taken :).

And had a round of go fishing!

The girls got their hand/face painted for the second time that day.

We spent the second hour of the fall festival in the activity center exploring everything the bounce houses had to offer (ps. Emma changed out of her giraffe costume and back into her dress at this point).
