September Little Things

Ahhhh, September has come and gone (and almost so has October ;)).  It is a month that I typically get excited about cooler temperatures and fall weather and every.single.september I have to remind myself that September in Texas is hot. Like excruciatingly hot sometimes.  But I love this month, it's the month of back to school for the girls, it's when fall concerts at the Levitt start back up, it's when we celebrate Wes's birthday followed by our anniversary and we always, always wrap up the month with time at our church picnic.  Even with all of the big(ger) things that I have blogged about, I love reflecting back on the little things that make each of our days so sweet.

We are starting off with sleeping Eberleah and her most favourite teddy bear blankie- she requests this blanket almost every single night.

The first week of September we got to 'meet the teachers'.  Wes and I know many of the teachers up at the girl's school and we were thrilled to see that Everly was in Ms. Debbie's class :).  Even though she would be the oldest, we knew that she would be more comfortable in a familiar environment :).  She was a little nervous before we headed off.

So I smothered her with smooches to let her know that she will do great!

But not Emma- with this being her third year of school, she was all smiles and excited to go (even requesting princess Leila type buns)!

It rained pretty good in early September, filling up the girls water table- they had a blast running from inside to outside and back in again splish splashing everywhere they went.

Evsie's cheese face :).

We had the best Labor Day weekend.

During the next work week, I met Ally for coffee and I forgot to get a picture of us together, but sure enough Ally did get this picture of me and my coffee! The barista was a little upset with me for asking for my iced coffee sans ice so he only filled it 3/4 of the way full- little did he know I am a gold card member and can get as many refills as I please ;).  As I type this out, it doesn't sound like a funny story, but trust me when I say this was hilarious.

The following weekend we spent some of our Friday night at the Levitt - where the best picture was this blurry one of the girls running everywhere.

The following Saturday, we had Emma's first soccer game and following that excitement, we headed out to Six Flags where I guess Ev's had enough and fell right to sleep ;).

We ate lunch and when she was awake and ready we hit up a few rides, her favorite being the hot air balloons.

Not sure what this face is about, but I love it :).

As Emma enjoyed spinning us as fast as she possibly could.

Emma has fallen in love with one particular horse on the Six Flags carousel, so much so that she has named her Goldie.  She continuously asks about Goldie and when she will be able to see her again and has stars in her eyes when she spots her upon arrival.  Luckily for us, she is not one of the horses that goes up and down so that typically works in Emma's favor.

Oh, you know, just giving her horsie Goldie a hug bye bye.

The following Sunday, we met baby M and her mama at the park for some picnic lunches and play time. This is the best picture I got of all three :).

Emma and baby M holding hands and us mommies swooning :).

It is funny to watch that Emma's babies (including baby Seodore, baby Connor and baby M) are not such babies anymore; however, Emma still always insists on holding them in her lap whenever possible.

Ev's was much more into playing than holding any babies :).

These girls sure did enjoy a new to them park (we probably haven't been to this park in over a year?)

After Natalie and baby M left, Wes and the boys rejoined us (they were fishing) and we had a little bit more playground time.  I love watching her watch her daddy- her facial expression is the best.

The sweetest two year old I know :).

Mommy-Everly picture :).

After naps, we headed over to Nonni and Papa George's house for some afternoon hangout time dressed in our best Chinese princess dress ;).

Where we hung out outside reading books and probably eating 'nacks.

On Monday's we have soccer practice (this particular Monday, Wes went to the Men's Club meeting at our church so I was solo parenting soccer practice) and we always head to the park so Emma and baby Yoga can get their energy out before heading home.  Emma is definitely our daredevil child :).

I love seeing them swing next to each other :).

I love sneaking pictures with my biggest girl :).

Sweet, happy Emma.

The day before we left for Mexico, we wanted to do something a little special with the girls so we decided on a picnic dinner, time at the playground (think like two hours) and finishing the night with frozen yogurt.  This sweet girl in the black shirt was smitten with Everly wanting to play baby and hold her hand.

Mama bear Emma came out and got quite protective of her 'baby Yoga' insisting that she is the only one that can play with Ev's.  It was sweet to see Emma be so protective of her baby sister, but we have been working hard on the concept that Everly can play with other people and in fact still be Emma's sister ;).

I sure was going to miss this girl!

This sweet girl got more frozen yogurt on her dress than in her mouth.

We went to Mexico and had the best time celebrating Wes's birthday and our anniversary. I don't have a picture of our actual anniversary because I spent the day and evening in College Station- but, there were so many happy thoughts of our six days spent together :).

When we arrived home, we picked up Bailey and got a you're welcome present from Bobbob and got to keep Jewel for a few days.

In all seriousness, Jewel is sweet as pie to our girls and Emma and Everly adored every minute of having another animal in the house :).

Ev's insisted on this onesie for our walk and simultaneously reminding me that she will always be my baby.

Love this crew of mine :) and their walking styles :).

The following Saturday (after our Mexico trip) was our one soccer-free Saturday and with slightly cooler temperatures, we decided to walk to our local Starbucks for our morning caffeine :).

Where Ev's got her daily dose of sugar in the form of a kid's whipped cream cup.

That weekend, we spent time at Austin's church picnic and our church picnic.  The following Monday, we had soccer practice which we followed up with dinner at Chick-fil-a and lots of sweet sister time.

September, you will always be one of my favorite months, because you lead up to my three favorite months of the whole year- October, November and December.
