Our Holiday's | Part II

Helloooooo! How was your weekend?? I hope it was a good one! We are going to start this week with part II of the vacation round up (highlights) and then we will deep dive by day because Wes downloaded all the pictures for me and there are so many good ones to share (please don't roll your eyes, I know you can barely contain your excitement ;))! So picking up where we left off... the day after Christmas!

At lunch time, we headed over to Wes's sisters house for a more intimate gathering than Christmas Eve with his sisters, their husbands and his parents - we had a blast! Emma and Everly had a tea party for the guys ;), we just love hanging out with them!

After that, we headed over to Kelli's house! They were in the process of selling their house (and she's about to have another baby!) and it was so so so good to catch up with them amidst all the chaos.

On Tuesday morning, we hung out at my parents house - Nonni painted the girls nails and we mostly just relaxed.  Emma and Everly went to go take a nap with Nonni, but Nonni returned one toot to me that wouldn't nap so Ev's hung out with me and Adge :).

Ev's played hard to get - Adge was trying to get some smooch-a-looch's out of Everly since she was leaving the next day for a wedding and we weren't going to see her again before we left.

Those rainboots might be my favorite present that I have ever purchased for the girls :).

After Emma woke up, we headed over to their Grandma and Grandpa's house for sleepover round 2.  They loved sleeping over with their grandparents and Jubal and every time we picked them up, they raved about how much fun they had! Wes and I went to Gloria's for date night number 2 as well- so fun to go on dates again!

The next morning, we picked them up and dropped off Daddy to play some golf! We headed back to my parents house and no one was there so we headed to the lake to run off some energy.

All that hair and the golden sun!

We could not get enough of the crystal clear blue sky!

"I'm going to get you for a smooch-a-looch!!"

Gotcha!!

This picture cracks me up - prepping for some kisses!

Followed by the real deal ;).

Two mornings before we left, this one had her three-year-old well check (she rocked it!) and afterwards we picked up Starbucks and headed to the trampoline park :).

She always always always has a lovie.

We had quite the gang!

Pretending to be birds ;).

We had the best time being back at one of our favorite places! And we were extra excited that Ally, Katelyn and Nonni joined us :).

We wrapped up our last few days at home with my favorite dish - my mom's lasagna :), lots of horseplay, snuggles, laughter and a few last minute trips to the store to load up on 'supplies'.

And before we knew it, it was time to head to the airport to head back to Chengdu!

We are so thankful to both of our families for making time for us, for my parents for hosting us and for all the fun, fun memories that we made during these two weeks!  It was bittersweet for us to be back - there are so so so many good things about life in China, but there are also so many good things about life at 'home'.

And then we got ready for our 24 hour trek home.  Not pictured is the biggest meltdown Everly has ever had in her life going through security.  We were those people who could not get control of their toddler.  It was exhausting and exasperating and embarrassing, but we made it through, got our last American Starbucks (there are no Starbucks inside the San Francisco airport) and headed to our gate.

And this is how we felt when they said, "we are delaying boarding because we need aircraft maintenance to check something out" or something like that ;).

Other than that twenty minute delay, the girls behaved pretty good on all airplane rides and I got to have my favorite lunch at the San Francisco airport.  17 hours of active flying and 24 hours door to door is not easy and the girls aced it overall.
