Guilin with Nonni

After a super heavy rain, a 2 hour drive to the airport (normally takes 30 minutes) and a 4 hour plane delay - we made it to Guilin!!! This was our last weekend with Nonni and we wanted to make the most of it! And in case you can't keep up with all this randomness, this is from way back in July...

If you have been a longtime reader ;), you might remember that this was our first trip that we took in China nearly 2.5 years ago! We were excited to go back and see what had changed (turns out not much) and show Nonni around. I think Guilin is one of the most beautiful places we have been in China and it did not disappoint.

And evening walk to get our wiggles out prior to dinner is all we managed on the first night.

Classic Everly Gracie smile.

I was trying to get the girls to twirl and they were not having it, so Nonni got in on the action.

The next morning, we were treated with amazing views from our balcony. So fun to watch the fog lift.

We headed out bright and early for our boat ride down the Li River.

Only two people per boat so my mom went by herself.

Emma loves to go on these kinds of things with Wes - she is big into him being the protector of all things scary.

And she is big into being a mama's girl ;).

The scenery was stunning.

I convinced the guy to let Everly stand up on our bamboo raft :).

Emma and her Nonni.

The best family picture we could get ;).

Love the rainbow umbrellas floating down the Li river.

Her legs didn't work. And we forgot our stroller in Chengdu. And it was a bajillion degrees outside. Sigh.

We went back to the hotel to have a rest and gear ourselves up for walking up Moon Mountain Hill.

Mount Qingcheng (from the drone)

Whew, it has been one tough week for me - so excited it is Friday!! We are hosting our first slumber party tonight (pray for us that we come out alive), but I just wanted to pop in and share a few pictures of Mount Qingcheng from Wes's drone. He is getting quite good!!

This first picture is my absolute favorite!

Some from the mountain.

And then some from the temple we stayed at :).

Such a fun weekend! Next weekend we are heading to the mountains again and we can hardly wait!
