Hello and happy Monday to you :), I hope you all had a good Mother's Day weekend - we had a great weekend filled with friends, playgrounds, Popsicles, centipede hunting and most of all family time with our two girls! Ready to wrap up Japan - let's go! After the fish market, we headed to Shibuya district in Tokyo - which is most well known for it's famous intersection.
^ our first true cherry blossom sighting right out of the subway station ^
^ I had read that the best place to see this unique intersection was from the Starbucks on the 2nd floor. ^
^ anything that recommends Starbucks and Wes and I are in - bonus, they had our favorite flavor (white chocolate mocha). something interesting - this Starbucks is so busy that they only sell one size (a tall). ^
^ what is famous about this intersection is that all of the cars go and at one point, all the traffic lights turn red and then people flood the street (especially on a sunny day). ^
^ since it was raining, we didn't see floods of people... ^
^ but it was still fun to watch while we enjoyed our coffee ^

^ we hopped back on the subway and headed to our next stop - Harajuku district, specifically to take a walk down Takeshita street. ^
^ there were sooo sooo many people ^
^ and everyone with their umbrellas just made it all the more crazy. we took a walk down the whole street first - there were snack shops and trinket shops and all kinds of weird things to take in. we decided on a few snacks to try and waited in horrendously long lines. ^
^ first was the Calbee - it was a french fry and chip shop. ^
^ a look at the menu ^
^ we went with french fries, hot and spicy chips and chocolate potato chips (yummmm!) ^
^ since the chips were mainly for me ;), we stopped at a place for the girls next - the menu was so fun (these are all popcorn flavors for ice cream!) ^
^ so fun to look at the popcorn ^
^ but, we were not after the popcorn - we were there for the cotton candy we had been spotting on the street ^
^ that's the same look I have on my face when I am about to dig into cotton candy bigger than my face ;) ^
^ we waited in line close to 30 minutes for this goodness ^

My parents got stuck in the middle of that intersection and had to wait until the light changed. Love the last picture - looks like clown makeup. Happy Mother's Day and thank you for sharing!
