Way back in August (August 31st to be exact), Wes and the girls picked me up at work and we headed out on a weekend adventure to Danba still in the Sichuan province. It was not easy to get to (we had two little girls stomachs that could just not handle the twists and turns on the way there) and it took a sweet forever, but, ultimately we had a blast!
We stopped at the Four Sisters Mountain overlook on our way! Even with the clouds, the beauty gets me every time (this is the same spot we took my mom).
We were the first ones to arrive in Danba so I snapped some pictures for the group to see.
This is where we were staying (Danba is a Tibetan village).
The girls waiting for their friends to arrive. Our friends all started to arrive and the kiddos were so happy to see their favorite people - they stayed up way too late!
The next morning the girls were up early and we explored our hotel as everyone started to wake up.
It had the most amazing rooftop to hang out.

After breakfast, we got ready to head out to explore (really go on a hike, but if I tell my kids it's a hike they won't go ;)).

When we got back, popsicles for all.
We went apple picking which turned out to be walnut collecting (don't ask) and on the way, a nice stranger picked up a car load of kids to help transport them. It was hilarious.

That night, the kiddos decided they were going to throw themselves a kids party on the deck. Everly had the best time hanging out with the big kids. The next morning, the kids were up early and started crafting on the deck.
I loved the flower pots - they just painted old cans! So unique.
It was a great way to kick off the start of the school year!
