Weekend Recap

We had the best weekend this weekend.  It wasn't super special, but it was filled with lots of good things.  It started a little early on Thursday evening with dinner at my parents house.  Ally was home for a day and had friends over + one of my extended family members so it was a nice, big dinner.  And as a bonus, we got to eat lasagna!  Considering it is my favorite meal that my mom makes, I was a very happy, pregnant girl.  

Dinner made going to work on Friday hard :).  A co-worker brought me a slice of pink cake on Friday and it was nice to celebrate baby girl!

On Saturday morning, we went to the JBF sale.  Seriously love this sale.  We go on the day that it is free to get in and everything is 50% off.  I got Emma 15ish new outfits + 4 new pairs of shoes + the new babies Santa present for $77.  What a bargain!  Here is a sampling of some of her cute new clothes!

Afterwards, we went to Central Market to kill a little bit of time before heading to Torchy's Tacos.  If you have not been to this place, you should go.  We have had one in Dallas for close to 2 years probably and we just found out that they had one in Fort Worth and had been planning on going all week.  Emma's first time at Torchy's Tacos.

The fried avocado taco is to die for.  Ok, that might be a bit dramatic, but it is delicious.

That afternoon, Wes let me have a long nap.  When he went to nap, I decided that I was determined to get Emma to wear her new shoes.  She cried and cried and just sat down and decided she no longer knew how to work.  I was sad for her, but she has to learn to wear shoes so I just left them on her.  Shortly thereafter, we went to my parent's house for a quick visit.  When we got there, Emma was so snuggly with Nonni.  She would just snuggle her head up to her and then she would just turn and point at me.  It was like she was telling Nonni she was mad at me.  But low and behold, my child wore her shoes for two + hours.  This was a huge accomplishment.  Posing with daddy with her new shoes on.

After Mass on Sunday, we headed to the Perot Museum for my companies free day at the museum!  I cannot say enough good things about this museum.  It was so fun and interactive.  

We headed up to the exhibit that my company sponsored where Emma had fun playing with Grandpa George.

The exhibit also had a big video screen, where you could watch an instructor do Tai Chi.  You were supposed to imitate the instructor and you would be able to see your moves on the screen.  Well, all the kids did not care about the Tai Chi part, but they did enjoy watching their shadow. Emma and a little girl her size playing around.  You can see their shadows if you look at the screen.

Right next to this exhibit, was an exhibit of animals.  As soon as Emma saw the animals, she started panting, she was so excited.  Here we are checking out the bear.

Then, Emma spent some time talking to the piggy.  It was so funny to see her so animated talking to these dead/stuffed animals.

We checked out the birds, then headed to check out the skeletons.  Emma had so much fun sitting in the fossil.  In fact, she screamed when I made her get out of it.  Also,check it out.  Emma wore her shoes all day! and didn't even cry when we put them on!

We had some lunch and then headed down to the sports area/children's museum.  Emma had so much fun down here.  There was one part where you touch the screen and it lights up dots. I am not sure, she exactly got what was happening, but she loved banging her hands on the big wall.

Wes was able to test his reaction time.  He had a good reaction time, me not so much :(.

Then, out last and final stop (the actual children's museum)!  Emma's favorite part.  Mine too because she can run and run and run and it contains her (for the most part).  There was a camping section where Emma cooked us some of her best food.

When we finally convinced her to leave the camping area, we went to the water area.  Love this girl in her apron (even though it makes her look like a toddler and not a baby- sigh).

I didn't get a picture of it, but we spent the rest of our time in the baby/toddler area.  Emma was worn out when we left.  She slept for almost two hours and then as a bonus through the night!  What a great weekend!
