When we got back from Paris and London, we were wiped. The six hour time difference was hard to overcome (much harder than 14 hours in my opinion) and the girls were seemingly zombies for days (Wes would wake them up at 10am most mornings). It took a sweet forever, but we pulled ourselves together because we had about three weeks before my mom came to visit us from the time we had arrived back in Chengdu. Here is a little look at what we were up too.
^ Saturday morning gymnastics. ^
^ there were only two kids in Emma's class! ^
^ we stopped by Peter's afterwards for chocolate cake and margaritas. ^
^ did some bike and scooter riding and somewhere in there, I fit in quarter close. ^
^ Emma did jump rope for the very first time! ^
^ and Everly had a blast spinning around in that circle contraption. ^
^ haha, horrible picture, but we found ourselves at the indoor swimming pool more often than the outdoor swimming pool because Chengdu was a rainy mess most of the summer. Like so much rain. The rain was constant. The rain caused traffic problems. The rain was literally a nuisance. We were so happy when it was not raining. ^
^ lunch at Mike's Pizza! ^
^ and back at the indoor swimming pool! ^
^ we did crafts for Papa George! p.s. Emma was giving Everly a hard time about not following "the correct" pattern for her heart - I feel like their truest personalities always shine through during craft time. ^
^ we did more gymnastics. ha, looks like I need to get them some new leotards (three weeks in this post, the same leotard each time). ^
^ riding the escalator by themselves! and me immediately imagining them as teenagers. ^
^ we had a play date at the trampoline park - can you spot them? ^
^ and we made a "just in time" banner for Nonni's arrival. whew, even though it felt like we spent most of these three weeks recovering, we were able to fit in a lot of fun things! ^
