August Little Things: Part 2

Thanks for coming back today. I promise there will be less hashtags :).

One night after work, baby Seodore and Austin came over to go swimming with Belinda the Mermaid, ummm I mean Emma. Don't worry Theodore- we are just as confused by her multiple personalities as you are :).

That night, the girls were hungry after all that swimming- together, we downed 8 eggs and followed up with graham cracker snacks on the couch and some rare three way snuggles.

And when I was saving down pictures, I realized that exactly a year ago, we took a similar picture- just this time it was on the couch as opposed to the stairs.

Blurry, but I just love when I capture genuine smiles.

I adore being their mom :).

The following Friday and Saturday is when we went on a car hunt.  We are so thankful that my in-laws and my parents were able to watch the girls so that we could get through the car buying process as efficiently as possible. And it looks like the girls had fun (all of these pictures were taken off of my mom's Instagram account :)).  They made and ate toast.

And even attempted to take a nap, but didn't get too far before we got there to pick them up.  After we got Everly home and down for a nap- we had to wake her up at 5:30; it is exhausting playing so hard at your grandparents house :).

Before heading to the zoo after Mass on Sunday, we came home to change clothes and grab snacks and snap a few pictures :). 

I love when the three of us girls all make it into a picture together :).

We actually went to the zoo to look at the animals and not go to the splash park (we didnt think it would be that hot, spoiler alert: it was HOT). We tried to get a family selfie, but the girls were preoccupied by the cute baby elephants :).

I haven't shown a picture of them on the blog in awhile, but they are getting BIG. We have had our zoo passes since before they were born so it has been fun watching them grow up!

This next series of pictures may be one of my favorites lately. Me and my girl.

I can't believe these pictures didn't make it into Papa George's birthday post, but before we received our blardigan's- Emma and Everly had some one-on-one time snuggling baby Theodore.

Theodore is going to spend the next few years being surrounded by girls! Doesn't he look thrilled??

One night after work, we went to the library to check out the books- my favorite memory of this evening (besides the coordinating, verging on matching dresses- you will see more of these pictures in tomorrow's blog post) was when Emma grabbed Everly's hand and told her, 'come on sister, we are going on an adventure' as they ran up and down the rows of books.

Our reward system has been in full gear over here- we actually bought ice cream to reward Emma if she sleeps through the night; our good sleeper Eberleah was more than happy to participate in the reward. ps. who ever thought I would type the phrase 'our good sleeper Eberleah'? Not me :).

After eating ice cream, Emma went on an acorn hunt and lined them all up- we are still unsure of where this obsessive need to line everything up comes from :).

Wes showed me this picture of the girls two years ago in August- Emma was taking a nap in her swing and Ev's was taking a nap on me; so much has changed in those last two years, sometimes it is hard to grasp what life even looked like back then.

On Thursday evening, the girls new car seats came for my Prius and so after Wes installed them we went on a celebratory drive to Target :).

The next day, I picked Ally up at work in my new Prius and we had a few tense moments (someone almost hit my new car), but we finally arrived at an (open) Starbucks and enjoyed our coffee!

That afternoon when I got home from work- I took the girls over to see my mom.  After a belly full of ice cream and a lizard hunting adventure, Emma was full of kisses for Nonni :).

I have always thought that Emma looks just like Wes, but looking at these pictures- I think she looks just like Nonni.

Then, little miss copycat wanted to get in on the smiles and kissing action :).

Which was ok with me, until she went full on attach mode ;).

A whole post with no hashtags :). I told you I could do it  ;).  There is still more August to come- hopefully tomorrow or the next day, stay tuned!

August Little Things: Part 1

One thing I will remember about this August, it was H.O.T.!!! Like 108 degrees hot for an entire week (#sogladiamnotpregnant #sorryaustin).  However, we did have one cold front near the end of August which tried to make up for the generally sweltering temperatures.  Overall it was a great month; lots of pool time, lots of family time, five weekends = just the way I like it.

The day after Ev's birthday party, we took our newly crowned two year old to the museum after Mass.

I just love the way she studies everything, taking it all in and trying to figure it all out.

And if I am being completely honest, I love her ponytail ;).

And this dress.

We headed over to the arts and crafts section, but this time steered clear of the markers and went for the clay/play doh- all four kiddos making snakes.  I will give you one guess as to whose idea it was to make snakes ;) and one guess as to who was bossing around her brothers to make snakes for her ;).

Evsie's wasn't feeling so well one night so while I normally just put her in her crib after prayers, I gave my baby a few extra snuggles.  It made me miss breastfeeding and all the snuggles that come with breastfeeding like crazy.

In August we were continuing trying to get Emma to sleep through the night with a reward system that involved an ice cream cone or slurpee if she slept through the night and if she made it five nights in a row, she would get to go to the trampoline park.  Our good sleeper was happy to partake in the rewards :).

Spoiler alert- she still hasn't quite made it to five nights in a row, but she has gotten way better! And more fashionable- don't you love her bracelet ;).

The following weekend we headed to the zoo splash pad and for the second time in a row, just had the best time.  Emma has gotten pretty brave and will go down all of the slides (with the exception of the largest orange slide) still mostly wanting me to go before her but by the end gaining enough courage to go down by herself.

She indulged Everly and played on the baby slides.

Oh hi! there sweet girl! In case you are wondering, yes, I made Everly wear her swim suit and a swim top- it was the hottest day we had all year and we almost didn't go I was so worried about them getting sunburned and I was not taking my chances.

That night we just hung around the playroom- the girls like to bundle themselves up on shelves and pop out and 'baprise' me :).

Sunday afternoon we went to Nonni and Papa George's house and the girls indulged in some ice cream.

All of our eyes were closed, but I just love these three smiles so much.

It had been a really long day- Emma kept saying that she was a baby all.day.long. and I am sure she didn't sleep through the night and I lost my cool. It takes a lot for me to lose my patience, but I lost it this day. This was just what we all needed to rebound- a glass of wine for Nonni and mommy and ice cream for the girls.

We were playing in the playroom one night after work and I noticed that it was brimming to the top with toys.  I told Emma that we should pick out at least one toy that we could give to Theodore. Without hesitation she picked grumpy cat #luckytheodore #luckymommy #luckyaustin #luckyallthewayaround ;). I snapped this picture to send to Austin to inform her that she had won the toy lottery.

Wes made this delicious sausage/potato hash one night and it warranted a picture #yesweeatonplasticplatesfromikea.

I found this picture on our Photostream- Wes said he would make this for me to help out with the girls wanting to crawl into my lap at the same time ;).

One night, I went back into check on Everly and I noticed that she had fallen asleep holding her sippy cup at her eyes tucked in by grumpy cat #goodthingwedidntgivehimtobabyseodore #not ;).

Three or four nights a week, this is what our nights looked like.  We have really enjoyed the heck out of our pool this summer.
