As you probably have gathered from reading this blog, we are Disney people through and through - that is to say, we had pretty low expectations for Universal Studio's and I think because of that it blew us away - we loved loved loved it!! Here is a peek at our day (in two parts, because the number of pictures that I want to include is insane ;)).
^ the famous globe! ^
^ it looked like they were going to cooperate about as well as they do for their Disney entrance pictures ;). ^
^ they eventually perked up! ^
^ Wes and I in front of the globe! ^
^ I am thinking there is a new minion movie coming out - the park was decked out with minions. ^
^ we had a little bit of time before the park opened, unlike Disney the queues are not one mile long an hour before the park opens, so we walked around Sentosa Island - it is pretty amazing, the whole island was just built for fun, family friendly activities. this pirate ship picture is for grandpa. ^
^ I was particularly loving Evsie's new head wrap ^
^ it is never boring with Emma, this girl is so full of personality! ^
^ walking through the entrance. ^
^ the girls were tall enough for a 'big' roller coaster - it was the biggest they had ever been on. ^
^ blurry, but I love the authentic smiles. ^
^ my roller coaster riding buddy. ^
^ this reminds me so much of Adge and my dad - I can't remember exactly what they would say to each other, but something along the lines of 'leg lock, hand lock'. there were no lines so we rode this one a couple of times before moving on. ^
^ Emma and I got to ride a ride together that Everly wasn't quite tall enough for. ^
^ after we finished, we found Everly and Daddy on the Ferris wheel. bonus - it was indoors and air-conditioned. ^
^ Emma and I took a spin as well - doesn't she look so big here? ^
^ Ev's was on board with the animal themed merry-go-round. ^
^ Madagascar ride on a boat. ^
^ we weren't allowed to get cell phone out on this ride, but it turned out to be my favorite - our feet were hanging out and we soared above all of the attractions - you can see part of it in the background in the picture below. ^
^ those piggies ^
^ that smile. ^
^ Emma and daddy :). ^
^ while Emma was enjoying an ice cream snack break, Evsie's spotted a 'character!!' and ran right up to meet Pinocchio. ^
^ however, the rest of the time Emma was eating her ice cream, Everly was impatiently insisting that we go find Elmo. it took us awhile to find him, but, finally, we found him!! ^
^ and cookie monster! I love the way he is enveloping her ;). ^
^ in awe ^
^ Evsie's could not wait to get her chance with Elmo! ^
^ my girls ^
^ high fives all around. ^
^ saying bye bye is always the sweetest. ^
Just a few key points of information - we went on a Saturday during the summer and it was hot! (although not as hot as Hong Kong the summer before) and crowded!! We did one really smart thing - we splurged and bought the unlimited express pass. It was more than the price of the ticket so it essentially more than doubled our price to go to the park, but we didn't have to wait in a long line all day! There were a few lines, but as you know with kiddos - you cannot put a price on waiting in line (this was single handedly our best decision). We rode everything you see there multiple times throughout the day.
